Jimmy Walker
Macon, GA

My call sign is WA4ILO. I go by the name Jimmy (Jim on CW). I have been licensed since 1962. My grid square is EM82. County is Bibb in Georgia. I am a life member of ARRL.

HF - My primary rig is an ICOM IC-746. I also use two Elecraft K-1's, an ICOM-718 and an ICOM-706MKIIG. In the car I use the Ten Tec Scout and Yaesu FT-7900.

Current Interest - My current interest is building the Elecraft K-2. It's a summer project for me. I'm going slowly as others have suggested, very slowly. So far, it's been enjoyable getting acquained with modern radio innards. Since I'm not expecting to be finished any time soon, I'm not feeling impatient.

ANTENNAS - G5RV, dipoles, and a Mosley Mini-33 tri-band beam at about 25 feet For mobile operations I have Hamstick antennas for 40, 20 and 17 meters. For 80 meter mobile CW I use the Hustler antenna.

OPERATIONS - My most frequent activity is the Georgia State CW Net at 3593 kHz daily at 7:00 and 11:00 PM. A close second is PSK31 on 20 meters. After those two preferences, I like QRP, contesting, and Dxing.
