Bobby was first licensed at the age of 12 and enjoys all aspects of the hobby including amateur satellites, APRS, chasing DX, and contesting. He was bit by the contesting bug when his father, AB4HQ, used to set up a radio during Field Day and let Bobby work the 24 hours when he was young.
His radio career highlights include operating from the K2BSA station during the 1997 National Boy Scout Jamboree and making a QSO with Commander William McArthur aboard the International Space Station in 2005.
Bobby has worked many contests from NQ4I including the Georgia QSO Party, NAQP SSB, CQ WPX CW, IARU HF Championships, and ARRL Sweepstakes SSB in 2007. His primary responsibilities at NQ4I include the website administration and network/logging repair.
In his free time, he enjoys photography, designing efficient computer networks, listening to the Allman Brothers Band, and coding using web based languages (PHP, MySQL, etc). Linux and OSX are his operating systems of choice. He is an Eagle Scout, and a member of the SECC, AMSAT and the ARRL.
